We got a hold of Mark Zuckerberg’s Spotify Wrapped…
I created a spoof of Spotify Wrapped that highlighted Mark Zuckerberg and Meta's business failings over the past year, using a familiar and popular format to critique Meta's willful neglect. With Zuckerberg's public image shifting from a Silicon Valley entrepreneur to a tech bro in streetwear, it felt fitting to use pop culture against him. By drafting and getting sign-off on the content before Spotify Wrapped's official release, I was able to quickly adapt it to Spotify's 2025 layout.
The post worked because it leveraged a concept everyone looks forward to, popularized by brands and organizations. It told a clear story about Meta’s lobbying dollars, showing how they influence legislation that boosts their bottom line. Even users with little knowledge of Meta's legislative actions could easily follow the money and grasp Zuckerberg's contrived, unprofessional public image through the graphics on slide 3.
