In April 2024, Delegates Jared Solomon (D-18) and C.T. Wilson (D-26), along with Senators Benjamin Kramer (D-19) and Chris West (R-42), introduced the Maryland Age Appropriate Design Code, which Governor Wes Moore signed into law on May 9, 2024.

The bill mandates privacy by design and default, requiring online products and services likely to be accessed by under 18s to be age-appropriate and designed with their best interests in mind.

On behalf of Accountable Tech, I collaborated with parents, medical professionals, and youth advocates to gather petition signatures, monitor hearings, and clip testimonies for our social media channels.

We engaged a large base of student advocates, educating them about the electoral process through infographics posted on the Instagram feed for Design It For Us, a youth-led coalition advocating for safe internet laws. I drafted the copy and worked with an in-house designer to ensure these products aligned with the coalition’s brand guidelines.
